Sellers, Brosdahl get Big 12 fellowships
Tuesday, September 30, 2008
Deb Sellers, assistant professor in FSHS, and Deb Brosdahl, associate professor in ATID, have received Big 12 Faculty Fellowships for 2008-2009.
Brosdahl will work with researchers from the University of Missouri and Iowa State to develop international connections that will lead to improved international education of apparel and textile undergraduates. Students need to develop a global perspective in business and culture, she said.
Sellers will work with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service to create national, web-based interactive materials for family caregivers of older adults. The resources will become part of the eXtension initiative, a partnership between the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service and 74 land-grant colleges and universities.
The chief academic officers of the Big 12 Universities created the fellowship program to stimulate scholarly activities in the areas of teaching, research, mentoring and service. The program offers tenure-track or tenured faculty the opportunity to travel to member institutions to participate in cross mentoring among universities, develop working relationships and exchange ideas with others.
