Professional Biography

Renee has been a guest teacher for Mathematics Professor Wilma Kuhlman at McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas (two semesters), for Professor Bronwyn Fees at Kansas State University on Kindergarten (three semesters), and for Instructor DeAnna McCloud (Emergent Literacy course) at Kansas State University (two semesters, Spring 2015 and 2016). Conferences she has presented at include the Bureau of Education and Research on the topic of Writing Workshop (Summer 2003), Kansas Association for the Education of Young Children on Creating a Learning Garden for Children PreK-2 (October 2007), and Kansas Association of Teachers of Mathematics on Subtilizing (Fall 2013). Service to previous employer Rock Creek school district includes three years on the Curriculum Committee, two years on a Compensation Committee and three years on Parents as Teachers Committee. While Renee's children attended the Center for Child Development at Kansas State University, she served on the board from 2000-2009, of which the last two years she was the Board Chair. 

Personal Information 

Renee and her husband, Ron, have three children. Bret is a red-shirt junior at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on a baseball scholarship studying Business Marketing, Alec is a freshman at Kansas State University in Park Management and Conservation and in the ROTC Army program, and Jill is a freshman at Manhattan High School whose interest is volleyball. Many of Renee's days involve supporting her children in their sports activities. As a family they enjoy traveling and being outdoors in nature whether it is hiking, camping, snow skiing or frequenting coastal beaches. She has an interest in cooking healthy meals for her family, and reading books to increase her knowledge of improving her family's lifestyles and books to enhance her teaching profession. Renee also enjoys reading biographies and making photo scrapbooks for her family. She attends Westview Community Church and has been involved in the children's ministry in several aspects and currently serves on the Trustees Board.
