Public Health Nutrition

Put science into action! Public health nutritionists give us practical guidance about the influence of diet on health, as well as on cutting-edge topics like bioterrorism, disaster response and food safety. Public health students can participate in hands-on research measuring dietary intake, body composition and bone structure of humans. This undergraduate public health nutrition program is one of only a few in the United States. Students often go on to graduate school or accept positions with agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, state and local health departments, the Cooperative Extension Service, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This is truly the way to spend your life—helping people help themselves!
