Scholarships & Funding

Step One:
Apply for K-State Scholarships
K-State has one application form for university, college, departmental and program scholarships. New students should apply by November 1 for the next academic year. Continuing students should submit the application by February 1 for the next academic year. If you want to apply after February 1, contact Karen Pence to be added to the list of applicants.
Note: If you recently transferred from another college on campus, double check with the dean’s office to make sure you are on our list for scholarships (not your former college’s list).
Step Two:
Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
In addition to student loans, this form is used to apply for grants and campus jobs. (K-State will consider your eligibility for grants, even if you don’t wish to apply for loans.) Many private sector scholarships give consideration to financial status, so having this data on file makes that information available.
Step Three:
See if any of these scenarios fit you (Apply by February 1 for the next academic year)
- Are you a University employee?
- K-State employees may be eligible for tuition assistance programs.
- Are you a distance student?
- The Division of Continuing Education offers a few scholarships for distance students. Check The Division of Continuing Education web site for details.
- Are you a member of any of the following organizations?
- Click on the association’s name to link to their scholarship application.
- Are you going to study abroad?
- If you are planning to participate in an International Study Abroad program, International Study Tours, or International Service Learning for academic credit, check out the College of Human Ecology International Study/Service Scholarships (Adobe Acrobat).
- Are you an international student or a student from a historically underrepresented ethnic group?
- Apply for the College of Human Ecology multicultural scholarships:
Every organization has its own deadlines and application requirements. Check each site carefully for information.
Step Four:
Research and apply for scholarships independent of K-State

- Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation
- AMBUCS
- American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation

- Association for Women in Science
