Welcome to the Health and Human Sciences Graduate Student Council

WHO WE ARE:

We support graduate students in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Our organization provides social and professional networking opportunities for current students as well as promotes interest in the graduate programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Our current organization includes students enrolled in all departments/school within Health and Human Sciences and encourages graduate students from outside the Health and Human Sciences with a major professor in Health and Human Sciences such as Food Science and MHP to join.

WHAT WE DO:

The HE GSC, partnering with the Health and Human Sciences Dean’s Office, sponsors educational speakers and workshops for professional development for graduate students. Our speaker series is titled, “Higher Education in Health and Human Sciences: Professional Development for Graduate Students”. We aim to provide creative interdisciplinary connections for graduate students and social events for graduate students to network with graduate students, faculty, and professionals with interests in Health and Human Sciences. Our monthly meetings allow graduate students to voice their concerns and make a recommendations for the College of Health and Human Sciences.

WHY JOIN:

As a member of the HHS GSC, you will have opportunities to network and socialize with other HHS graduate students, faculty members outside of your department, develop as an academic professional, and stay abreast of the events in our College! Opportunity to build leadership skills through serving on the leadership team as well as organizing people and or events. Provide graduate student perspective on issues facing the College. Serve as liaison between HHS and the Graduate School.

STAY CONNECTED:

Stay connected and up to date with all the events and meetings from HHS GSC by joining our organization through Orgsync, K-State On-line, and our Facebook page. Dues are $10 per semester. Dues fund the social events of the organization.

Higher Education in Health and Human Sciences: Professional Development for Graduate Students

A professional development certificate will be provided for all students who attend at least FOUR Higher Ed Speaker Events. Attendees will need to obtain the code from the event and fill out a form after each event through the Health and Human Sciences Graduate Student Council OrgSync webpage to qualify for the professional development certificate. The forms will only be available for one month after the event. The events will be recorded for later viewing.
