Webcam records construction minute-by-minute in real time

A website chronicling construction of the 13,180-square-foot addition Justin Hall, home of the College of Human Ecology, features a webcam feed that will continue until the project is completed in Spring 2012.

Site cleared as Justin addition construction begins

Work on the 13,180-square-foot addition to Kansas State University’s Justin Hall is underway. Leveled earth has replaced landscaping in the building’s west lawn. Giant holes have been dug to support water and sewer improvements. Making Lovers Lane became a one-way street headed east and Justin’s main south entrance is closed.

K-State Olathe, opening April 26, makes campus No. 3

New opportunities for research, graduate education and more are coming to the Kansas City area with the opening of Kansas State University’s newest campus in Olathe. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at K-State Olathe will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, with an open house for the public to follow until 7 p.m.

Ultra-modern classrooms will be part of a new privately-financed addition to Justin Hall, home of the College of Human Ecology, on the K-State campus. Groundbreaking ceremonies will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, near the southwest corner of Justin.

Picturing history: postcards tell story of buildings named for human ecology leaders

Human Ecology and K-State have more buildings named in honor of human ecology leaders than any other land grant university campus. Sets of 12 postcards depicting the buildings and their namesakes, numbering more than any other college at K-State, are available for $5.
