School of Family Studies and Human Services offers new student success center

Thursday, August 30, 2018

The School of Family Studies and Human Services will now offer a student success center in Justin 245 for all students in their programs. The student success center will house the school’s academic advisors and student development assistant. Students can go to the success center for academic advising, minor enrollment, peer mentoring, workshops and more.

The HDFS peer mentor program, which began last year, is available to current students in the program and those that are interested in the human development and family science program or minor.  Shelby Boso (Andover), Meghan Dyster (Olathe) and Nate Faflick (Olathe) are the 2018-2019 peer mentors and they are available to assist on a variety of topics including: tips for enrollment and class scheduling, navigating the degree program, explaining KSIS and DARS, questions on student life and the variety of campus resources.

The peer mentors are located in Justin 245 and are available during select times Monday through Friday. For a complete schedule of availability, please click here (https://www.he.k-state.edu/fshs/academics/hdfs/academic-planning/mentor_hours.pdf)
