Personal Financial Planning Senior Receives TD Ameritrade Scholarship

Tuesday, August 29, 2017

Nolan Keim, senior in personal financial planning, was awarded one of 12 NextGen RIA Scholarships from TD Ameritrade. The NextGen RIA (Registered Investment Advisors) Scholarship is valued at $5,000 and is awarded to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in personal financial planning. “Winning this scholarship has given me great confidence going forward, which will help me during my last year of school as I start my career. This award will also provide me with a resume booster, which will set me apart from other students when applying for jobs,” said Keim.

The 12 winners spent a day in New York touring the Financial District and visiting the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square, where the scholarship winners helped ring the Closing Bell on July 18. When asked about his time in New York, Keim said, “ I had an incredible experience in New York and one that I will hold onto for a lifetime. It was an honor to be able to meet the directors from TD Ameritrade as well as getting to know other students from across the country. TD Ameritrade has the obvious passion to reach and promote the next generation of financial advisors, which will be something I carry on throughout my career”.

TD Ameritrade Institutional is an industry leader in developing programs designed to raise awareness of the outstanding career prospects in financial planning and in encouraging more universities to expand their degree programs. Two of the 12 scholarship awards are for students from under-represented demographic groups to help increase racial, ethnic and gender diversity in the RIA industry. Over a period of ten years, TD Ameritrade has committed to investing more than $4.5 million through scholarships, grants and other education programs.
