Personal Financial Planning team advances to national competition

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

State fair 004 croppedOnce again, the student team from the College of Human Ecology at Kansas State University advances to the national Financial Planning Challenge in Orlando, Fla., in October. Sam Honey, Rashelle West and Jamie Engelken (right) were selected because of a financial plan they submitted to the Financial Planning Association which, along with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. and Ameriprise Financial, sponsors the national competition. Their coach is Ann Coulson, assistant professor in the School of Family Studies and Human Services.

Kansas State University is the only university to send a team to the finals every year since the competition began in 2000. In 2012, the students won first place.
