Dudek gets Commerce Bank teaching award

Michael Dudek, associate professor in the Department of Apparel, Textiles and Interior Design, has received the Commerce Bank Undergraduate Outstanding Teaching Award.
Dudek made a mid-life career change from interior designer with clients such as Coca-Cola, Sun Microsystems and Bank of America to teaching design students at K-State.
He also receives $2,500.
Dudek received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s in interior design from Florida State University. He specializes in adaptive reuse, lighting for interiors, sustainability and the design process.
He has shared his passion for the power of design for seven years at K-State, bringing 23-years of professional experience to each classroom. “I tend to hold undergraduate students in high level design courses to professional level expectations,” Dudek said.
