Teagarden to be commencement speaker

Alexandria Teagarden will be the student speaker for the College of Human Ecology commencement ceremony May 15. She was chosen to represent her fellow graduates based on public speaking skills, academic achievement, activities and professional potential.

More than 290 students will receive Bachelor of Science degrees at the 4:15 p.m. event at Bramlage Coliseum.

The senior has served as president of the Human Ecology Council, delegate to the Leadership Honors Bootcamp in Washington, DC student ambassador in the Department of Apparel, Textiles and Interior Design. Her honors project included work on a history of the college.

She is a KSU Foundation and Board of Regents Scholar and member of Kappa Omicron Nu, the national human ecology honorary.

In July, Allie Teagarden, who will receive her degree in apparel and textiles, will join the university as an admissions representative in Dallas, Tex. She is from Tecumseh.
