Athletic training students get state honors

Alicia Stalbaumer and Laurie Hildebrand received first team all-academic honors this weekend at the Kansas Athletic Trainers’ Society conference.

Five received second team honors. They are Brandon Blount, Christine Chollet, Jacob Edelman, Danielle Shearrer, Nicholas Wedel and Clayton Zerr.

Those earning honorable status are Julianne Chisholm, Margaret Hiller, Ikuri Ogata, Lyndsey Palmer, Natalie Pederson, Jordan Pratt, Thomas Ronck, Cole Samuelson and Melissa Schwabauer.

Athletic trainers are allied health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses, often with a focus on athletes and athletic injuries.

The program is part of the Department of Human Nutrition.
