Students called, donors gave

More than 170 students spend this week calling alumni and friends of the college, asking them to dig deep to donate to scholarship funds. Telefund pledges reached $130,390, according to Cara Richardson, college events director. Although the number is about $10,000 less than last year’s total, Richardson said she expects more pledges to come via mail over the next few weeks.
