Tech forum kicks off spring semester

Faculty Council chair Bronwyn Fees presents the Crayon Challenge.

Despite throttling budget shortfalls, Dean Virginia Moxley told faculty Monday the College of Human Ecology will continue to thrive. “We have to work smarter,” she said.

“We will always put faculty, staff and students first,” the dean added.
Spring Forum kicked off spring semester. Classes start Wednesday.

The program focused on use of technology in the classroom and included a roundup of resources from Kelly Thompson, graduate student in HMD.

She offered the following resources:

Betsy Barrett reported on her use of Second Life 3D virtual technology in Convention and Event Management (See Barrett’s class meets in 3D virtual world).

Deb Sellers reviewed Cooperative Extension’s use of Second Life as an educational tool. She demonstrated with Cooperative Extension in Second Life (a longer version of the video is available here).
