Club managers chapter takes two international firsts
Monday, February 18th, 2008
The student chapter of Club Managers Association of America won top honors at the annual CMAA World Conference in Orlando this month.
Students won first place in the Idea Fair for their annual fundraiser, the Travel and Dining Auction, and another first place for their new member handbook.
The 11th annual Travel and Dining Auction last spring netted $15,000 to support scholarships and student travel to professional conferences.
Jason Bahnson, a junior in hotel and restaurant management from Shawnee, is president of K-State’s winning chapter. Also attending the conference, with more than 3,000 club managers from around the world, were Laura Werneke, Maggie Fields, John Pierce, Miles Combs, Matt Gourlay and Lonnie McPheter.
Kevin Roberts is the group’s adviser.
