K-State Human Ecology students inducted into honor society

MANHATTAN — Kansas State University’s Theta chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu, an honor society for human ecology students, has more than 50 new members.

The honor society’s mission is to recognize leadership, research and scholarship. Members must aspire toward the advancement of scholarship, personal and leadership development, and the maintenance of high standards. Both undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate integrity, high standards of scholarship, and the promise of achievement are invited to join. New members this year include:

Ashley Pruett, sophomore in dietetics, Atchison; Hannah Garcia, sophomore in hotel and restaurant management, Augusta; Darcel Gronewoller, junior in communication sciences and disorders, Beloit; James Monk, junior in family studies and human services, Bennington; Diana Sandberg, senior in early childhood education, Clearwater; Kristen Henriksen, sophomore in interior design, Courtland; Stacy Davis, junior in interior design, De Soto; Sarah Waite, junior in dietetics, Ellinwood; Rebecca Zirger, sophomore in family and consumer sciences education, Frankfort.

From Greater Kansas City: Courtney Held, sophomore in dietetics, nutrition science and premedicine, Leawood; Rachel Hood, junior in family studies and human services, Olathe; and Cara Krekovich, junior in family studies and human services, Laura Parente, junior in dietetics and gerontology, and Robyn Russell, sophomore in athletic training, all of Overland Park.

Kayleigh Strickler, sophomore in nutrition and exercise science, Iola; Lauren Griffen, junior in dietetics, Lansing; Sheryl Lange, junior in early childhood education, and Laura Romig, sophomore in dietetics, both of Leavenworth.
