Turner honored for Distinguished Service

R. Elaine Turner will receive the Distinguished Service Award Friday from College of Human Ecology at the annual Celebration of Excellence.
Turner is associate dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the
University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla., and professor in the food
science and human nutrition department. She has taught courses in life
cycle nutrition and dietary supplements.
She has co-authored two introductory nutrition texts, both endorsed by the American Dietetic Association. In 2004, Turner was a national winner of the Food
and Agriculture Sciences Excellence in College and University Teaching
Award, given by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National
Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.
Turner received a bachelor’s in dietetics from K-State in 1982.
