New awards laud full professors

Kansas State University’s new Professorial Performance Award program recognizes the university’s most accomplished full professors.
CHE faculty receiving the award are:
Elizabeth McCullough, international authority on the thermal and barrier properties of fabrics, professor of textile science and co-director of the Institute for Environmental Research.
Rick Scheidt, a psychologist who specializes in aging – as related to environment, adult development and other aspects – in Family Studies and Human Services.
Walter Schumm, a specialist in marriage and family life and retired Army Reserve Colonel whose research includes studies on the Gulf War, the Titanic, Pearl Harbor and impacts of reserve duty on family life.
Charles Smith, author of “Raising Courageous Kids” and authority on parent-child relationships and moral development who maintains an award-winning informative Web site, “The WonderWise Parent” and who is developing a center for Courage and Character in Children.
Edgar Chambers IV, director of the Sensory Analysis Center, Department of Human Nutrition, whose expertise in sensory analysis and consumer behavior is sought worldwide.
