Friday, January 28, 2005

MANHATTAN -- The Friends of the Kansas State University Costume and Textile Museum will host a fundraising event, "A Bead-azzling Affair," from 6:30-10 p.m. Feb. 27 at the K-State Alumni Center .

The event will feature dinner, dancing and music by "Betti O and the Exceptions," and a viewing of the museum's beaded costume collection. The purpose of the event is to raise funds to support an endowed curator position for the museum.

According to the sponsors, a curator is critically needed to manage, preserve and exhibit the more than 15,000 items in this significant collection.

Tickets for the event are $100 per person. Reservations can be made by contacting the Department of Apparel, Textiles, and Interior Design at 785-532-6993 by Feb. 21.
