Undergraduate Programs
Undergraduate programs in Human Nutrition focus on sensory properties of food, on the metabolism of nutrients, on nutrient requirements throughout the life span, and on issues related to diet and health. The Athletic Training Education Program prepares students for careers as allied-health professionals.
The Department offers the following undergraduate programs leading to a bachelor’s degree:
- Nutritional Sciences (pre-medicine)
- Nutrition and Kinesiology (dual degree offered with the Department of Kinesiology)
- Public Health Nutrition
- Athletic Training Education Program
Students in nutrition-related programs (all except athletic training) can meet the academic requirements for membership in the American Dietetic Association by completing nine additional specified courses. Course requirements for admission to medical, dental and optometry schools are met through the Nutritional Sciences curriculum.
