About the Event
The Hospitality Department is excited to announce the Inaugural Hospitality Summit, brought to you by the Hospitality Management Department and planned by the Event Capstone Course. This is a two-day event for students planned by students and targeted for anyone interested in a career within the Hospitality Industry. All Hospitality classes will be cancelled for the duration of the event. This amazing opportunity will take place at the K-State Alumni Center. on March 14-15, 2017. Tuesday, March 14th:
10 a.m. - 11 a.m.: Selecting a Track, Job, or Internship
This session will help guide you in choosing a track and/or an internship as well as inform you on what you can do with your Hospitality Management major.
11 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Mentors - How To & Benefits
The director of the Mentorship Program here at K-State will talk about the benefits of having a mentor throughout your college career and how you can get connected with a mentor.
12 p.m. - 1 p.m.: Lunch Break
1 p.m. - 2 p.m.: Interview Tips
This will be an interactive, round table session where you will learn how to answer common interview questions and practice them with your peers.
2 p.m. - 3 p.m.: Salary Negotiation
Come to this session to learn more about how to properly negotiate your salary upon accepting a job.
3 p.m. - 4 p.m.: Roundtable Discussions with Employers and Industry Professionals
Here you will have the opportunity to ask employers and industry professionals questions about their experiences. It is also a great way to get to know some of the employers before the career fair.
4:45 p.m.: Registration
5:30 p.m.: Keynote Speaker - Jose Mola, GM of Disney's Boardwalk Resort
6:30 p.m.: Opening Reception - Meet the Speaker
Wednesday, March 15th:
8 a.m.: Registration
8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Career Fair
1 p.m. - 5 p.m.: Onsite Interviews
