Student Information System (SIS)

SIS allows on-line access to student records and course information. Much of the data housed in SIS is confidential, so authorization is required to gain access. Contact Rita Newell (2-5503).

If your SIS password expires (or you forget your password), contact the ISO Help Desk at 532-6282.

The Student Records Policy — Kansas State University applies to information included in SIS. Do not print off or release information except as permitted by the Student Records Policy.

Students have access to their own student record information through KATS. Explanations follow for some of those screens most useful to advisers.

SRCO — VIEW OPEN SECT/CRS

Lists only OPEN class sections for a course. The key is course number and term.

SRDI — GENERAL INQUIRY

Summary of student's demographic, biographic and academic history information. The key is student ID number.

SRHM — ACAD HIST MAINT

Displays detailed record of all KSU resident credit work taken each semester. GPA and CUM GPA also are provided. The key is student ID number and term.

SRHM — UPDATE BASIC GROUP (CURRICULUM PROFILE)

Displays all information related to curriculum for an individual student. A student in multiple curricula will have multiple screens, one for each curriculum. Records name of student's adviser. The key is student ID number.

SRVA — CURRENT ASSIGNMENT

Displays a complete record of the student's current class assignment. As final grades are posted, the grades also are displayed. The key is student ID number and term.

SRAD — STUDENT ADDRESS

Displays three student addresses (local, permanent and emergency). The key is student ID number. NOTE: students are responsible for recording their addresses through KATS — and they are notoriously poor at maintaining accurate addresses! Please encourage students to update their addresses on KATS.

SSCG — ACT COMPOSITE DATA

Displays a summary of the student's ACT profile record. The key is the student ID number.

SSNS — STUDENT NAME SEARCH

Allows browsing records according to name. SSNS generally is used to verify or find the student's ID number. The key for SSNS is LAST NAME, FIRST NAME MIDDLE. It is not necessary to include the entire name, but enter as much as is known.

SSTC — UPDATE TCOLL

Displays transfer college summary for each transfer college student has attended. The key is the student ID number.

SSAF — UPDATE ADVISED FLAG

Displays advising flags and allows adviser to change flag from N (not advised) to Y (advised)
