Minors
Undergraduate Minors provide students an opportunity to emphasize study in an area outside their major curriculum. See Minors in the K-State Undergraduate Catalog. Students enroll in minors by completing a program of study change initiated by the appropriate minor program director. A minor cannot be completed after the major degree is awarded; the minor is considered to be part of the degree program.
To declare a minor:
- The student meets with the appropriate minor program director. Contact the department offering the minor for the name of the program director.
- The program director prepares a program of study change form. The completed form is filed in the Registrar's Office.
- The Registrar's Office enters appropriate curricular codes in the student information system.
- The program director tracks courses completed and notifies the Registrar's Office when the minor program is completed using a minor completion certification form.
- The Registrar's Office adds the date of graduation to the academic minor in the same academic term that the student's major degree program is completed.
