General Requirement Electives
Current guidelines for selecting general requirement elective courses are summarized in What Counts for What (Adobe Acrobat).
One Credit Courses
One credit courses will be used only as unrestricted electives, unless they are laboratories accompanying a lecture course, e.g. PHYS 101 and PHYS 103 (The Physical World and The Physical World Lab) or are a sequential series of two or more courses, e.g. CIS 101, 102,103 and 104. This policy also applies if a student is one hour short in a general education area. For example, if a student has completed five credits of humanities elective courses, and the program requires six credits, only an appropriate course of two or more credits will apply as humanities elective credit.
Honors Sections
Qualified students may substitute honors sections of general requirement courses for regular sections.
Statistics
The statistics courses STAT 320, 330, 340 and 350 are considered to be equivalent in level; therefore, credit may be applied from only one of them, and any one can be substituted for one of the others.
