Students should consult with adviser and the Dean's Office before enrolling in courses offered by other institutions through correspondence, independent study or distance education. Advisers can assess if course content is equivalent or sufficient to meet degree requirement for major. The Dean's Office can verify that the institution's transfer credit is accepted by K-State and that a course meets college and university degree requirements. Some correspondence study applications require a Dean's Approval signature if the credit is to be applied toward a degree. Karen Pence reviews courses from other institutions for possible approval.
Courses should be considered part of the semester load if they are in progress during the semester.
Information about continuing education courses offered by other institutions may be obtained from the Internet or from reference books available at the library or bookstore. Encourage students to check courses available through the K-State Division of Continuing Education, 221 College Court Building.
