AmeriCorps VISTA Project Assistant in Family Studies and Human Services
General Information
This full time VISTA service
position will build the capacity of HandsOn Kansas State and
School of Family Studies and Human Services at Kansas State University
to engage military youth, families and veterans in community-based
assessment, events and programs. These activities will take place in and
around Manhattan, Junction City and Ft. Riley, Kansas.
Project Period: April, 2012 - April, 2013 (With possibility of renewal for up to three years).
Qualifications
Applicant
must be over 18 years of age, have a vehicle, and posess skills
necessary to work with vulnerable populations. Bachelor's degree or near
completion of degree preferred.
Successful applicants will
receive a $892/month living allowance, and are eligible for health and
childcare benefits. A $5,500 education award is provided at completion
of a successful 12-month term in the position.
