Short Biography
I grew up near Vancouver, Canada. After receiving my B.A in psychology I started my career in the human services field working for Atira Women’s Resource Society. Over a five year period I worked as a Child and Youth Worker, Family Support Worker, and most recently as the coordinator of the Family Project: Children Who Witness Abuse Support Program in British Columbia, Canada. In that capacity, I facilitated groups for children ages three to 18 and for mothers who had experienced domestic violence. During those five years I also completed my M.A. in Family Studies. I moved to Manhattan, Kansas in 2006 to pursue my doctorate in Family Studies at KSU. I am married and we now call Manhattan our home.
