Short Biography
My first job out of college was to teach biology and general science at the junior high and high school level. My health science teaching was at Brigham Young University and Kansas State University. I worked for seven years at Lafene Student Health Center at Kansas State University as director of health education. Health promotion work with college students provided me the incentive to apply for the extension health education position when it became vacant. My twenty plus years as health and safety specialist with K-State Research and Extension has been very rewarding. My responsibilities have been to develop, implement and evaluate health and safety programs with county Family and Consumer Sciences agents.
