Short Biography

Kim Hiller Connell received her B.S in Human Ecology from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and her M.A. and Ph.D in Apparel and Textiles from Michigan State University. While at Michigan State she also completed a specialization in environmental science and policy. Her scholarship program focuses on sustainability of the apparel and textiles supply chain and sustainable consumer behavior. Currently she is investigating environmentally significant apparel consumption behaviors and barriers and the decision making of ecologically conscious consumers. She is also working to define environmentally significant apparel consumption from an environmental impact perspective and assess apparel students’ knowledge of sustainability issues within the apparel and textiles industry. Kim is a proud Canadian.
