Short Biography
I grew up in Scranton Pennsylvania. After matriculating from the University of New Mexico, I taught occupational and vocational home economics in Alamogordo, New Mexico for five years. While completing masters work, I taught food sciences classes at UNM. During doctoral work at KSU, I worked in the dean’s office and as a head teacher in the child care programs. After completing doctoral study, I was an assistant professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies (1987-1991). I am married and have two young sons.
