Apparel Marketing Specialization
The Apparel Marketing specialization prepares students for a wide variety of careers in the fashion industry:
- Retail Merchandiser
- Sales Representative
- Department or Store Manager
- Trend Forecaster
- Buyer
- Fashion Stylist
- Fashion Coordinator
- Product Developer
- Operations Manager
Courses in the specialization include Store Operations, Buying, Visual Technologies, Marketing, Management and Accounting. The curriculum includes selected electives including courses in Business, Advertising and Public Relations. This flexibility allows students to focus their studies on a secondary area of their choice. Apparel Marketing students often complete minors in Business or Mass Communications.
When paired with appropriate elective coursework, students can prepare themselves to become:
- Store Owner
- Fashion Journalist
- Fashion Photographer
- Fashion Event Planner
Apparel Marketing students complete an internship between their junior and senior years which serves to prepare them for a successful career in the fashion industry. Past students have interned in New York City, Kansas City, Dallas, Los Angeles, and London, England.
International study is highly encouraged during students' course of study. Study Tours and Study Abroad programs are available.
