Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Apparel, Textiles, and Interior Design offers undergraduate programs in two areas: Apparel and Textiles and Interior Design. Students learn to use the human ecological framework to make professional and personal decisions that affect two fundamental human needs: clothing and shelter.

Apparel and textile professionals use creative and analytical abilities as well as an understanding of the marketplace to respond to consumer, business and societal needs in a rapidly changing environment. The soft goods industry provides a wide array of career opportunities for apparel design, product development, and marketing professionals.

Professional interior designers use analytical and creative thinking in combination with a broad range of technical knowledge to shape interior environments that satisfy the functional, spatial, and aesthetic requirements of a broad range of end users in all building types.
