Jamie Ball '10

Jamie Ball is a physician and pediatrician at Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO.  Prior to her current practice in Saint Joseph, she practiced at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO.  She has completed training in both general surgery and pediatrics.  Her research has also been published in both Pediatric and Surgical journals.  Her article Infant of a Diabetic Mother with an Anomaly, was published in the American Academy of Pediatrics NeoReviews Journal.  She has also been published in The American Surgeon with her article, Implantable Central Venous Access Ports Placed in Mastectomy Incision Sites: A Safe and Viable Option.

Ball was named one of the Kansas State University Alumni Association’s Distinguished Young Alumni in 2021. She was named the University of Kansas School of Medicine Person Exemplifying the Attributes That You Most Desire In A Physician 2014 and the University of Kansas School of Medicine Overcoming Adversity Award 2012. She also received the 2019 Katinka Kersten MD Award for Excellence in Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine. 

While at K-State, Ball was named a Kassebaum Scholar and The Division of Biology’s Most Promising Student.  She was involved in numerous organizations including Student Alumni Board where she served as the first two term President, Blue Key Senior Honorary, Student Governing Association, Union Governing Board, Chimes Junior Honorary, Silver Key Sophomore Honorary, Quest Freshman Honorary, Women Mentoring Women, Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, K-State Proud, the KSU Foundation’s Changing Lives Campaign, Wildcat Warm-Up and the K-State Alumni Association Board of Directors.  She also completed cancer research through the Terry C. Johnson Center for Cancer Research. 

Ball has been active in the community and especially enjoys participating in school-based programs.  She has been a Lunch Buddy to elementary students, Reading Pal and currently volunteers for the 4th Grade Challenge Fitastic Program. 

Ball graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kansas State University College of Arts and Sciences in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a secondary major in gerontology.  She graduated with her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2014 with Alpha Omega Alpha honors.
